This is the Vulture in ARK: Survival Evolved

Appearance: Visually, the Vulture in ARK is the same as a normal vulture.

Wild: Often, you will encounter one or more Vultures while they are feasting on a creature's corpse. In this situation, it is not smart to approach them, as they will violently defend their meal. If a Vulture flies or walks by you normally, it will likely leave you alone.

Tamed: Anything that ends up in a tamed Vulture's inventory will rot faster than normal, both positive and negative. It is positive if you need rotten meat, but negative if you just want to put it in for a bit since you have reached the maximum weight you can carry.

On the positive side, however, they also like to eat spoiled meat, like the Pulmonoscorpius, which also has spoiled meat on its menu.

How to tame the Vulture in ARK

The Vulture is passively tamed with spoiled meat or the options mentioned below. To feed it, you have to place the food you selected in your inventory slot on the far right and carefully walk up to the Vulture from behind while it has landed to rest. Once you are close enough, the command "Feed to tame" will appear, which you execute.

Now you have to follow the Vulture, but don't get in its way, make it aggressive, or harm it until it is hungry again and the above command appears. If you hit it, the taming progress will be set back to 0. Repeat this until the Vulture is tamed.

Tip: You can also tame it in a covered trap that you build from foundations, walls with windows and ceilings. But first, use a bola to trap the Vulture. Once it is trapped, build the surrounding foundations, and place walls with windows and a wall with a door. Now close the trap with the ceiling elements. If necessary, you will have to trap the Vulture with a bola again during construction.

Go in, feed it, leave the trap and close the door behind you. Wait a few moments until the Vulture is hungry again, and repeat the process until it is tamed.

Food for Vultures in ARK

Once you have tamed your Vulture it is important to know what kind of food it likes to eat. Vultures are carrion feeders and carnivores, which makes the choice of food more accessible.

  • Spoiled meat
    • Created from any meat or prime meat that has expired.
  • Raw Meat:
    • Earned by gutting a creature
  • Raw Fish Meat:
    • Received from gutting fish

How to breed Vultures in ARK

This is how you prepare the breeding: If you have a male and female specimen, you build an enclosure that is large enough. Put both Dino's in the pen and set them to "wander" via the command menu. Alternatively, you can also switch directly to "Pair", but then there must always be a player nearby. Otherwise, the pairing will stop due to the rendering.

The breeding interval of a Vulture is 18 to 48 hours.

ARK-Vulture-Baby - Guided How to Hatch Eggs: The hatching begins when you find a fertilized Vulture Egg from a successful mating. For hatching, the ambient temperature of the egg should be between 35 °C and 38 °C and within the Egg-Incubator at 37 °C. According to standard settings, the little Vulture baby hatches after about 1.5 hours. After that, it needs about 2.5 hours of your attention, during which you must keep putting food in its inventory.

Once it gains juvenile status, it can feed itself from troughs. The total maturation time takes about 1 day and 1 hour.
